Well, I am not the person who blames the people who buys the large Hummers, SUV's and Trucks because it is the automakers that are responsible for making less energy efficient vehicles and marketing the gas-guzzling monstrosities.

That is like blaming every single person who shops at Wal-Mart for the monopolization of commercial retail and loss of jobs. A boycott is almost impossible, the only real way to make an effective change is at the production scale.

I disagree. Buying a hummer or a huge pick up truck or SUV is a lot worse for the environment then buying a regular car -- even if buying a regular car isn't so great, either. It's still better.
