In the late 19th century, millions of human mummies were used as fuel for locomotives in Egypt where wood and coal was scarce, but mummies were plentiful.

Simply splended, an infinately renuable resource. Let's just use people to create energy. No more oil problems, just take the dead. What a bright future we could have. ;-)

Well, I imagine only mummified or very recently dead would work, and with hummers, suv's and pick up trucks at an all time high I doubt the past ten years supply would meet even one year of the American oil need.

You do realize it's not just Hummers, SUV's and Trucks, right? I am looking into buying a acar and EVERY SINGLE FUCKING VEHICLE HAS RISEN DRAMATICALLY IN FUEL ECONOMY OVER THE PAST TEN YEARS. I am outraged.

I realize it's a multi layer issue, but the worst for fuel economy or those I listed.

You do realize that, don't you?

Well you seemed to think they weren't so bad, because cars were bad too.

It would be infinitely renewable until the universe reaches thermal equilibrium and absolutely no work can be done.

That would be the heat death of the universe.

We could also wait for the mummies to decay into fossil fuels.

Yay for thermal equilibrium!

No, boo for thermal equilibrium; everything will be dead, nothing will be able to happen, and, since the universe appears to be a closed system (no energy can be added or removed), there's nothing anyone could do.

Ahh well, We'll have bombed everything by then.

That was sarcasm/dark humor, by the way.

You honestly think that there's enough dead to supply the fuel needs of the world?

Of course not; this is pure theory.

I would have to know how much energy a dead person could make before I come up with a guesstamite on that. Lets use a body and see!
