The bagpipe, the national instrument of Scotland, did not originate in Scotland. Bagpipes were known in Persia in ancient times, and actually their antiquity has been traced back to ancient Mesopotamia.

Haha. ;) Most people hate the bagpipes.

I know a girl who wanted violins and bagpipes at her wedding.

The combination.

Umm. OWW!

I bet some people could make it work. Find some Riverdance music and the combo is probably on there.

I don't think there's big bagpipes... They have Eulian (sp?) pipes.

It made me wince a little. I think stick to one or the other.

I need to practice my violin. I am a bad musician.

That is one instument I've always wanted to learn. I had one guy offer to teach me the fiddle :D He said that way I could play both styles. He said if I learned classical violin first that it would be harder to learn the other.
How long have you played?

Oh that's bull. Classical's the best way to learn. It teaches you how to REALLY play.

And not long at all. Just learning it, but I know enough to know that it's better to be classically trained first, and expand from there.
