Frau Bucher. [Jun. 9th, 2005|07:12 pm]

[mood |highhigh]
[music |Young Frankenstein]

The superstition that a broken mirror leads to seven years’ bad luck may be related to the notion that mirrors held the soul. Or it may simply stem from the fact that early glass mirrors were so outrageously expensive that an average person who broke a mirror might have had to save for seven years to buy a replacement.

I was thinking that too. LOL. I've bought so many cheap mirrors over the years... my ancestors would have lifted their skirts to pay for one.

Having a mirror in the room you sleep in can cause nightmares...

I had some horrible ones when I stayed with someone who had an entire wall made of mirrors on their apartment (People in california seem to think it makes the room look bigger... I think it makes the room look tacky, heh.).

Ugh. One whole side of my living room in the last apartment before I moved back into this house had mirrors. Not just mirrors. 70's gold speckled mirrors.. ie: Porn Movie Mirrors. Very trashy/icky. Glad I moved out of there, otherwise I BET I would have had nightmares.

Oooh. Most likely. I know it wouldn't be, but sometimes I think it would be fun to be an indentured servant. Especially like say to Alan Rickman?

I refuse to look at my own reflection in the dark at night. I saw something that terrified me one night and have averted my eyes ever since.

I know EXACTLY how you feel. Sometimes at night when I go to the bathroom for a moment my face changes into something just evil, you know? Like my eyes turn evil and my face changes... oh, and sometimes I see a second face.. I blink and they're gone, but Lord that's scary, you know?

*shudder* Yes. And I've had issues with ever looking in one at night ever since. I turn on like every light on the floor when I go to the bathroom after 10.

So did you talk this over with Mel Brooks?

Or did young Frankenstein himself tell you?
