I haven't seen the new movie yet, now I'm going to be thinking about the new pope ever time I see the Emperor!!! Did they do it on purpose...I know he wasn't pope yet, but he was one of the top ones in line...or does the actor just look like him?
Was reading some of the comments above about current Pope...not Catholic so I've heard nada about the guy other than he's the knew guy in charge. I'm gonna have to start asking my Catholic friends about him now...very intrigued and somewhat concerned.

Actually the picture of the Emperor here is from Return of the Jedi which was in 82? And that was you know, a couple of decades before John Paul was showing any sign of croaking. I don't think there's any correlation between the casting of the guy who plays Palpatine back in the 80's and just happened to be reprising his role right around when Pope Ratzenazi became the leader of the Catholic church, I wonder what kinds of conversations Pope Ratzenazi has with God? I wish I could pipe into that line..

And yeah, I'm concerned too. :)

weird coincidence then
Are you Catholic? I'm concerned because the Pope is a very powerful individual. Many powerful leaders listen to his opinions.

I am not. My sister is though, and the Father of my child, so I have a lot of Catholics in my life.
