The goooooood Reverend. [Mar. 20th, 2005|01:06 pm]

[mood |exhaustedexhausted]
[music |Between The Lions]

In November 2003, when last we left America's most uninhibited public gay basher, Topeka, Kan., preacher Fred Phelps, he was proposing a statue to celebrate the murder of a gay man. In December 2004, his Westboro Baptist Church issued a press release praising God for the "Tsunami & 2,000 dead Swedes!!!" after he assumed that Swedes were among the vacationers who drowned at resorts in Thailand. Phelps had denounced Sweden for jailing a gay-condemning preacher (Rev. Ake Green, since released). According to Phelps, the Swedish homosexuals who died were "vacationing on their fat expendable incomes without kids to bother with and spend money on."

Of course I mean it sarcastically darling.

And I don't know if religion does, but I think that fanaticism does, and there seem to be a lot of fanatic Christians so it gives those that aren't a bad name.

I don't know if they should be killed...

But I'm certainly not fond of that shizzat at all, yo.

And so do I. :) And straight people. And bi people. And short people, and tall people, and.. well you get the idea.

Terrible.

Nobody should take delight in and praise the death of innocent people.

Re: Terrible.

Absolutely, especially not someone who's supposed to be a man of the cloth. But then, that doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Yeah, once you have the power of the lord behind then it is really easy to think that no matter what you do, you are still good and moral. This gooooooooooood Reverend is giving religion a bad name.

I've noticed that those who claim to support all that is good are usually the first to behave badly, you know what I mean?
I'm reminded of those activists who murder doctors for performing abortions. They're all "we're pro-life" and then they cause death. People become so blinded by their own views that they refuse to see anyone else's and seek to destroy all who disagree with them.
It angers me at the core of my soul.

With any luck the reverend will end up being reincarnated as a gay person and have to deal with exactly what he used to dish out. That would be nice.

Actually, I have a funny story about good ole Freddy Phelps. He came to Ferndale (it's basically the "gay"
area of Metro Detroit) to stage a major anti-gay rally. Unfortunately for him, fortunately for everyone else, the total number of people in his parade was somewhere less than fifty. When the good reverend left as a miserable failure, the people of Ferndale just got out onto the street (at least 5000, if I remember correctly) with brooms and mops to clean away the hateful filth that had polluted their streets.

Man, I love Ferndale.

That's totally awesome.

Way to go Ferndale.
