I didn't use Chantix, but I know quite a few people who have. They all insist it's a "miracle drug," and the urge just disappeared. Good luck, whichever method you decide to try!
i am gonna lose weight. ive been doing Wii Fit for a month now and can already see some results. im toning up in the stomach area! i love it. plus, it helps that my friends are battling with me to see who can log more wii fit minutes for the month... :) and, i havent had a smoke since friday! :)
Congrats hon! =) As soon as I can afford a wii-fit and little random is less damaging to electronics, I think I'll try that too.
Sorry, wish I could help you. My method was the old fashioned, get bronchitis for two weeks trick. Really though coughing oso much that my stomache was in pain really killed any wantto smoke, lol.
Even bronchitis didn't work for me last year. :( It did while I had it, but then I went right back to smoking, like a loser. :(
Happy New Year to you too.
Did my Christmas card ever arrive cos I'm beginning to suspect that they are lost in some deep dark cellar somewhere!!
Yes! It did!! Thank you!!! =) I thought I emailed you a thank you for it? It's currently on the border just below the ceiling of my kitchen, hanging out next to my Grandma's card and I thiiiink my third grade teacher's.
LOL. I'm weird. I keep contact when I can. :)
The only way I've been able to eat less crap is to ban it from the house. If it's there it'll get eaten. I can't push my willpower too far.
Thanks hon, you too!
And I know right? I'm working on that too. Should cut out soda but can't do that AND cigarettes right now.
I'm learning to make tamales and starting to use capital letters when I'm in online conversations. I know those are silly and petty, but I've realized I'm too hard on myself when I don't accomplish my resolutions, so a few years ago I switched to things I knew I could do and that would still make me happy when I achieved them.
That's awesome. =)
Attainable goals are always the best.
Oh wow, that clip was fantastic! I've cut back on smoking because I've been sick. I should be sick more often!
continue to live healthier
not pushing away and accepting good things and people without questioning it or over thinking
persevere throughout whatever life gives to me
go to confession (YIPES! I haven't gone in over a year >.<)
go back to school
Good ones all. :) You're more ambitious then me.
i love the feeling of making meals from scratch... occasionally we still have the obligatory hamburger helper, but i love baking pasta dishes, breaded chicken, homemade mashed potatoes, bread, and lots of other stuff...
it makes me feel good to provide for my family, though i am not sure it is entirely more healthy. probably a bit less salt and other preservatives.
maybe i am naive, but i think there is a lot of great food out there that allows us to make quick healthy meals for less cost than buying everything fresh. we are so blessed in this modern era to have fresh produce when they are in season and canned fruits and veggies when they aren't. you can stock up on foods and have them all year round.
but i digress. the point is, fresher is probably more healthy, but having veggies at all (whether from the garden or from the can) is more important than not eating them at all.
but good luck with the smoking thing, my mom is trying to quit, i will ask her how she is doing it.
So true. *nod* We're very, very fortunate, I'm a vegetarian too, so that's the main thing for me, I'm so glad I can make meatless healthy alterntatives.
I'M SO HAPPY you are cutting back on the smokes!! I wish you the BEST BEST luck with it, and even if it doesn't work this time around keep trying, it can take the average smoker up to 8 times, but still!
A friend of mine swears by the book The Easy Way to Stop Smoking, he said nothing else worked but he read it and quit the next day and he's been smoke free for a year and a half!http://www.amazon.com/Easy-Way-Stop-Smoking-Non-Smokers/dp/1402718616
Anyway - I have no official resolution, but I did resolve at the end of last semester to keep up with my grad school reading assignments this spring. Also, after being cast in a show where I have to make out with a girl, I resolved to become more comfortable with my lesbian side. My friends Dave and Alex said their resolutions were to watch me become more comfortable with my lesbian side, with the help of a camera and a boom mike.
That's awesome, hon. ;)
And thanks for the support. I may check that book out. I'm willing to try a bunch of different things. Whatever will work.
I have friends who used Chantix successfully and rave about it's effectiveness. Good luck! I quit after 25 years of heavy smoking without using medication, but man it was hard and took me a year of working at it to finally quit. If I can do it, so can you! Go for it!
Congrats hon! I'm going to certainly try. :) I've cut back considerably anyhow, in the past few months.
I resolve to write more often--so many times I got distracted by my writing, that I missed a number of opportunities for a good idea
Chantix was recalled, and there is a class action in motion for the people who commited suicide or tried to while taking the drug. Guess it fucks your brain pretty hard.
Seriously? Since when!?
I've seen a commercial within the last week for it, I know I did.
Good goals!!! I wish you luck (o:
I tend to like yearly themes rather than resolutions. This year it will be "I live for interesting!" (which I have to repeat to myself as I'm going to do something I don't want to.) Last year started with "All is well" but quickly turned to "All is woe" which fit better (o: The year before that was "I Can Do Hard Things" and I did. That works much better for me.
That's really neat :) Gives you a lot more opportunities.
my new years resolution? enjoy the ever living hell out of my new house!
(what did you expect me to say? hehe.)
And well you should!!! That's awesome! =)
Happy New Year! Good luck w/ not eating so much crap; I'm going to work on that too... Don't know about how to quit smoking though - I only have one cigarette once or twice a year.
Happy holidays as well :D
Well, you're doing better than me. lol. ;)
