Sex & War.. ahh the constants. [Aug. 13th, 2008|04:43 pm]
[mood |anxiousanxious]
[music |CNN - Fortress New York]

Opinion time! I'm asking for yours!

Have you been following what's going on with Georgia and Russia?

What are your opinions?

There's some information if you're in the dark, or pop on CNN. I've been following it pretty closely the last few days.. and I really REALLY think this could get bad. And fast. And I think this could be a lot more scary then the Iraqi/Afghanistan conflict, and we all kow how many people have died from that conflict.

And I'm especially interested in my Russian and international journallers views as well about this. So please, I welcome your comments and want to know your opinions.

And unrelated...

Have some turtle sex.

The most interesting thing is that it shows just how weak the United States is now thanks to our invasion of Iraq. We can't do a damned thing about it. Nothing. We have no power or influence at all. This brings that fact home.

Also, I find Bush's words amusing. He's talking about invading a soveriegn country. Funny - exactly what he did with Iraq. What a fucking hypocrite.

We've lost so much respect around the world and now everyone gets a full understanding of just how pathetic and weak we are. We can't do a damned thing. Russia can do whatever it wants and we're powerless to stop them.

Agreed, it's very hypocritical. Definitely weakens any stance we take against it, to be sure.

I do worry about how many troops we have in the Middle East if Russia were to partner with any countries with the technology and inspiration to move against the United States, and any allies of the U.S. This could spiral further out of control VERY fast. I'm really, really worried.

Bush's inane actions have come back to bite him in the ass. Poetic justice.

This is just the start. The era of U.S. dominance is over for good. Even our dollar, thanks to massive deficits and a debt we can't pay, is quickly becoming a worthless piece of paper.

I know. I don't know how we're going to rebound. Everyone says we will.. but I don't see it happening. I wish i could afford to take my family on a vacation. Just one little bit of family happy memories before the states crumble.

The U.S. as we know it now will cease to exist before your life is over. I give us another 20 years at the most. Probably less.

Even closer to home, just earlier this year we supported Kosovo when they declared independence from Serbia, while Russia supported Serbia in their desire to maintain their territorial integrity. But when South Ossettia and Abkhazia try to break away from Georgia, we support the Georgians in their desire to maintain territorial integrity and condemn Russia for supporting independence!

It would be highly ironic if, after all the scares of the Cold War, WWIII finally breaks out over an area that was Soviet territory during the Cold War ...

*nod* It's a mess, to be sure. I can see it happening though.

Not the kind of irony I'm hoping to see. Let's hope that doesn't pan out.

Hey that is right like we have to do the opposite of them no matter what. Damn wish I had realized that we could have campaigned that Russia wants Bush for their president and we would have rushed to get someone else.
