Hello, everyone!

Election post time; and I need all of your help. :)

I will need to provide a link to Marta in less then a week in order to share my qualifications, and what concerns I have for the community and what I'm hoping to change.

I would love to have all of your opinions on the following, so that I'm able to make all of YOUR voices heard, in addition to my own. I want to take your concerns into consideration too, because I feel that's an important part of being elected to this advisory board.

1) What do you think is the value of LJ?
2) What changes would you like to see LJ make in the next year?
3) What do you think are the community's greatest concerns?

So if you would please chime in and give me some feedback on these three areas, that would be wonderful. In addition to that, it would be incredible if you were to pass this along to your friends, and onward.

The more responses I have, the more voices that can be heard.

Thank you all in advance, and I look forward to representing you.

Free, no-frills journal capability makes me a happy camper!

One time I logged in and they'd done an automatic deal that had added some color and formatting and I was frustrated to find my plain journal now at odds with my "manifesto" [ http://emteee.livejournal.com/profile ].

Fortunately I was able to bland it out again.

:^) Otherwise, go get 'em, girl!

1) What do you think is the value of LJ?
Community. Communication. Communication is all we have.

2) What changes would you like to see LJ make in the next year?
I would like to get rid of the silly Adult Content warning. It's a vicious, real-life internet out there. People need to safeguard themselves and their children. If they are not ready for the real world then they should stay home where they can be cared for.

3) What do you think are the community's greatest concerns?
As others, censorship. See #2, above. Are we scared of litigious crybabies? Or is there a better way to deal with litigious crybabies?

I definitely agree on the communication issues, but I do think that the adult content button is there to stay. It protects LJ legally from anything, and you don't have to press it. I'm not sure about the flagging process though, I don't like that. I think they need to be able to protect themselves legally, and it's annoying, but I think that's a small concession if they're able to work better on communication and restore free accounts. It certainly can be improved though, the situation with the adult content button.

Good questions!
1) I have attempted different blogs on different forums and have always returned to LJ. I've heard similar experiences from others as well. The site is fairly easy to navigate, looks nicer than most and has some really great features (paid and free accounts, privacy options, a way to group and manage friends and tags, scrapbook for photos, e-mail response to comments).
2)I can't stand the advertisements. I understand why they felt they had to do it, but there was little input from the actual users, that I could see.
3)Spammers, abusive bloggers.
