If marriage means you fell in love, does divorce mean you climbed out?

i really don't know. alot of things happen in life that lead me to think maybe there is a destiny; for instance someone not going to the trade center on 9/11 because their kid had their first day of school or something, etc. is that destiny? is it destiny to have a gut feeling to pick up something at just the right time (such as a news paper and find out something just in time you might as well not have known) or make one turn on the way home instead of your usual way? etc. you get the point. or is stuff just nudging us in the right direction and we make our own choices ultimately? who knows.

but i will tell you something that i HAVE learned, and as cliche as this might sound, everything happens for a reason. the reason i know this is because many things have happened to me and i know that if one thing was slightly moved out of place in those events in my life then i would be somewhere else right now. who knows where, maybe a worse place, maybe better.

this goes into the whole theory of why scientists wouldnt want to go back in time, even to the age where dinosaurs were, etc: because if they step on something they aren't supposed to step on, or change something even slightly, then something in todays time can feel that effect. the scientists wont know what they're going back to. lol.

have i bored you?

Not at all.

You've actually opened up the possibility for a whole bunch of other conversations.

What about the theory of alternate universes?

Where each of your choices are played out somewhere else by an alternate version of you.

It's a lot to think about. I'm not sure how I feel about it...

i dont quite understand what you mean by "Where each of your choices are played out somewhere else by an alternate version of you."

but here is a good question: is it really you in that alternate universe? if people have souls are those souls spread out through these alternate universes? if it's really you why aren't you aware of yourself? what's really going on here!

It's exactly what it says.. like each choice we make is a different piece of confetti that falls in with a whole new group of confetti depending on what we do at those crossroads.. I'm tired, this may not make any sense...

And what if each alternate version of us is a piece to what makes up our soul as a whole?

i'm sorry but i'm not following you at with the: "It's exactly what it says.. like each choice we make is a different piece of confetti that falls in with a whole new group of confetti depending on what we do at those crossroads.. I'm tired, this may not make any sense..." :[

so do you think when we die, however, we're reunited with the fragements of our soul in the alternated universes or no? or how about when everything comes to an end--given the alternate universe does at the time ours does--do we connect with our whole? do we remember our lives in those other universes? does it really matter or affect us if there are other us' in alternate universes since we, ultimately, don't know about them or anything or the choices/lifestyles they have?

I'm not saying that this is the truth or the real thing or anything like that.. just curious about the possibility of it, you know?

And I'm too tired to pursue it any further tonight.
