If marriage means you fell in love, does divorce mean you climbed out?

The bigger picture being the game of life?

I used to have that game. We lost all the little pegs first, then the little cars, then the little buildings.
I know there's a metaphor for actual life in there somewhere but I'm too lazy to find it.

I remember playing it with my 6th grade boyfriend.

Everytime one of us had a kid on the game we'd kiss. A lot.

Then my Dad walked in, and I wasn't allowed to see my boyfriend anymore.

You had a boyfriend in 6th grade? Wow. I was still getting into wrestling matches with boys at that point.

We met at the YMCA. Kissed in the pool, the sauna, and the woods. And eventually my place. ;)

I was a slutty 6th grader.

I didn't have a boyfriend again until 9th grade.

He turned out to be gay.

I guess I should have figured when we first bonded over the love for the musical Les Miserables.
