If marriage means you fell in love, does divorce mean you climbed out?

I like the Spanish way of thinking of it. The verb for getting married is casarse...literally to house oneself. As for the divorced part...I'd say it was more like a reversal of gravity.

To house oneself... so it'd be like a tornado hit your house when you divorce?

Yeah something like that...I guess it would depend on what you get after it all over.

i think the whole idea of marriage and divorce is so hypocrytical, i mean, you vow to spend the rest of your life with someone, your supposed to relax, go ahhhh, now i can no longer worry, i'll always have this security, they cant leave me, but then BAM! divorce papers, why bother vowing to be faithful and all that shit, if you can just turn around and anul it all. ::i vow to spend the rest of, well, until i get bored with you:: that's so romantic. now i understand if it turns out wrong or what not, but come on people, just think a little harder before jumping into it.

That sounds a little puritanical.

Divorce's are what keep a lot of people in line. "I won't cheat on my husband/wife because they might divorce me."
