Ancient Rome became the first city to reach a population of one million in 5 B.C. It would be more than eighteen centuries before the second such city, London, would reach that milestone in 1800.
Brett_Dunbar has informed me that Wikipedia disputes this. I wish my fact sites would be a little more reliable. lol.
"That appears not to be correct according to this wikipedia article Modelski in 2003 estimated that Alexandria reached one million about 100 BCE Rome reached that figure about 100, Chang'an (now Xi'an) was the next city to reach one million in about 700 then Baghdad in about 1000. Chandler in 1987 estimated the first city to pass one million was Baghdad in about 925. "
And a deleted Star Wars sex scene. lol. Wow. NSFW at all.
