One room schoolhouses and one pull wedgie cure [Feb. 28th, 2008|01:05 pm]

The Granville Village School in Granville, Vermont, is the oldest continually operating, one-room schoolhouse in the United States. One of only five such schools in Vermont, it was founded in 1857. In 1996, nineteen first-through-fourth graders were enrolled and the school was equipped with six computers.

How many kids were in your graduating class? I think I had 300 or so.

And wedgie proof undies. ;)

I've honestly never been given a wedgie. I can imagine it would suck, but I don't think girls get wedgies.

ETA - Clarification! I meant I don't think girls are given wedgies as often as boys are...

There were 15 in my gradauting class. I'd been going to school with 7 of them since I was 5.

Since our family was military and I had special needs, we kind of went from school to school.

My High School was huge though. It was more like a hospital building than a school.

Wedgies are silly. They are more uncomfortable than anything...don't hurt really. I heard about those kids that made the wedgie proof underwear though, that's pretty ingenuitive of them. :)

I did a bit of school jumping, but got to go my last two years to the same school, which I was glad for.

How was it like a hospital?

I was impressed with the invention too. ;) Cute kids.

There were about 100 of us at the alternative school. Good graduation, I went in a kung fu uniform.

Holy wow!! My school didn't let you get above a 4.0 I don't think, and it was all college prep, so it was just expected that you'd get that high or something. I don't know.

I graduated with 958 others. Course that was back in 1988. My oldest son graduated in 2005 and he had over 1,500 kids. Same school district, too. But we only have 1 high school in town, and it's just for 11th and 12th grades.

For grammar school, about 50. For high school, 123. For college, about 250. I've got "culture shock" from my son's school, where his kindergarten has almost 80 children in it.

And I don't think I have ever gotten a wedgie, although I would playfully threaten my son with wedgies when he was still in training pants ("just wait until you're in regular underwear!"). Of course, I have never actually given him one, although I have explained what one is.

I went to 2 high schools that had about 3000 students each, my graduating class was around 900 or so...Or supposed to be, don't know how many actually graduated.

I loved having large schools. I guess that's why I like working (as a contractor) at a huge US agency with thousands of people on campus.

They didn't wedgies so much at my school as Ankling. I think the kids call it Pantsing now, but Ankling is a far better name.

There were 19 students in my graduating class. Five of us (me included) were Valedictorian, because we all made 4.0 GPA. (Frederick Weyerhaeuser High School, Weyerhaeuser, WI)

Well, I think there were 17 people in my graduation class in the beginning of the year, but when it actually came time to graduate, only about 11 did! I went to a super small high school!
