Every year, surgical tools are left in approximately 1,500 patients in the USA. Heavier patients are more prone to having a surgical tool left inside of them due to the additional amount of space in their bodies.

That means, to use a medical analogy, we need to treat the disease, not the symptoms.

We need to deal with this on a societal level. The idea that it's ok for some doctors to be working 90 hours per week and sleeping 5 hours a night is really scary.

My HMO recently reached a scary mark. They have more administrators than health workers.

I'm with you. I just wanted someone else to clarify it for me. :) - And yikes. Why even have insurance in the first place?
