If you woke up and I was in bed with you, what would be your first thought?

(( All right. I caved. :) So many of you have done this.. why not me? Should be some interesting responses, nae? ))

In linux and unix anything that inputs or outputs data is a device. Representations of these devices are files located in the 'dev' directory. /dev/random and /dev/urandom are 'devices' that just spew random numbers if you ask them to.

I believe that the entropy sink is referring to how these devices get random numbers. The random devices in *nix gets random numbers by looking at electronic noise across all the physical parts your computer and combining it creatively. If your computer isn't doing anything interesting you won't have as high of entropy (chaos).

Make sense?

What sense that makes, if any, in this discussion, is another matter entirely.

I was wondering about that too.. but I suppose since I'm randomposting, it'd be ultra random to find me in your bed, therefore a random response would be called for? Non?

A little? *grin* I don't understand computer stuff at all.. or math.. so if you add the two together, I'd just get sick.
