Science experiment time! :) Make your water freeze!

According to studies at both The University of Iowa School of Medicine and Vanderbilt University, there is no evidence that sugar causes hyperactivity in children.

Yeah, my ass.

One of my kids in Wonka was RIDICULOUS. Joe - the cutest thing ever....MANIC MANIC MANIC. We had pizza and soda at the first dress rehearsal, and i come up to his table to ask how they're doing, and he says "THEY SWITCHED MY COCACOLA WITH SPRITE BECAUSE THEY SAID I COULDN'T HAVE ANYMORE." LOL!!!!!!!!

then the next day he says "I HAD A MOUNTAIN DEW WITH SEVEN SUGARS IN IT." Luckily, I can match (if not beat) their manic energy, so I just scooped him up and ran down the hall screaming "YOU'VE GOT TO CALM DOWN JOSEPH!!!!"

LOL! That's hysterical!!! ;)

Theatre kids are the worst fo all with sugar in my experience.

haha.

I remember being in a play that had school performances, so we missed school to do the show... I musta been about 11, and I was playing the eldest Herdman daughter in a specific Christmas-time show.. and I walked into the boys dressing room and all the Herdman boys were crushing up smarties, and snorting them before a show. LOL.

I totally partook. And I was like "This sucks, guys!!"

But they had a high energy perfomance.

Actually, the lighter sodas have more caffiene in them than the dark sodas, and more sugar. Sprite for CocaCola is not a good tradeoff at all.

I like Sprite though because it calms my stomach. Great when I eat something I don't agree with or have a bit of acid reflux. It's great to drink when I'm sick too. Don't know why, but I don't get that same effect from other sodas.

Sprite doesn't have more caffeine then coke. Mountain dew does though.

Gingerale's where it's at for me when I'm nauseated.

Ginger Ale tends to make me more sick. I seriously don't like the way it tastes. x_x

Interesting! *shrug* Helps me for some reason. Probably because I remember people giving it to me when I was sick and little, so I have good child memories associated with it.

Sprite doesn't have any caffeine in it period.

Mountain Dew does, though.

And canola oil. Mountain Dew contains a not-unmeasurable amount of canola oil. Gives it that slick taste.

Ooh! I was wondering what helped with that. Interesting!!

Sunflower oil is what makes Pringles tastes so.. sunflowery. haha. ;)

Love Pringles, but there is no naturally occurring Pringle Plant out there, sadly. And my body has finally said to me, HEY! Hunter/Gatherer design here, what the heck have you been doing with it? Now it's all fat and mooshy and the fuel you gave it has gummed up the works!

Which is why I wish I'd never been given the habit of eating sweets and junk-snacks, and would recommend against feeding sugary food or pure starchy food to kids. It's not a problem until you get the cumulative build-up. Hyperactivity is wonderful compared to type 2 diabetes.

Agreed. I think it's okay for kids to indulge once in awhile. What I don't understand are the parents that are letting their kids drink coke at like 2.. it just makes my stomach turn.

I'm beginning to wonder. ;)

Would the world come into perfect clarity or explode if we performed in Sideshow together? ;)

Brief clarity during the duration of the performance, before exploading upon the curtain coming down.
