I wasn't calling you stupid. I wasn't saying that at all. I was mocking a the assumption on the part of the news media that we're all too stupid to care about anything else.

"just the irony that a man who got away with raping a woman because he's a celebrity is going to testify for a celebrity in a sexual assault/molestation case"
As much as I despise Kobe Bryant, I don't necessarily think I like that phrasing, because, if I recall properly, she didn't have a case, because she went out and had sex with someone else the next day. Did he rape her? I don't know. I wasn't there. So I'm not going to assume he did or didn't. Either way, I don't know.

I get the irony of the witness in a sexual assault/molestation case having gone through a similar case himself, yeah.

I hadn't slept in over 48 hours when I responded snappily. Sorry. I'm tired, and so far this birthday blows, so forgive me. :)

- You're right, I wasn't there, but even if there had been substantial evidence that he had raped her, he would have gotten off. The NBA didn't evenmake him stop playing while he was being investigated. That's ridiculous. Many, MANY kids look at sports figures as role models, and what does that say to them? I think it's inappropriate. Even if he hadn't done it he should have been suspended until after the courts had decided that. There was so much tampering with that case, there is no way that he would have been convicted. Rape is almost allowed in this country, and when people bring it to court, they always make the victim look like a slut. That's why so many people haven't brought their own cases to court, it's not worth it, if they're just going to get off anyway and defame your character in the mean time. ( I am talking from personal experience here.) It's even harder to get a celebrity conviction. You can even get away with murder as long as you're a famous person, and it's sad.

Yes. It's seeping with irony.
