The Seven Seas & A Rocket Ship [Oct. 30th, 2007|11:30 am]
[Current Location |cuddling with my kiddo]
[mood |sore& stressed]
[music |circle of life]

Little Einsteins theme in Japanese. My kid's learning how to sing it from this clip. haha. Thought I'd share. :)

The "seven seas" is an expression popularized by Rudyard Kipling and, despite the frequent arguments that it refers to the seven oceans, dates back to the ancient Hindus, Chinese, Persians Romans and others. There is even a group of salt-water lagoons near Venice, Italy, that the Romans called septem maria, the Latin phrase for Seven Seas. The expression is thought to be more likely associated with the mysticism of the number 7.

random broadway randomness

I'm telling you this because I know you're a broadway gal, and i just found out about it and I'm so FLIPPIN' EXCITED -

Keep your eye out for a new musical called THE MAN IN THE CEILING - it is based on the book of the same name by Jules Feiffer, and Feiffer and Andrew Lippa are teaming up to write it!!

The book is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES - its about a boy who wants to be a comic book artist except he can't draw hands. His father is typical nonartistic office dad, his mom a flaky fashion designer, his sister a tyrant and his best friend, and his uncle writes flop Broadway musicals - you should read the book, its a quick read and its HILARIOUS and SO SWEET, and there are entire chapters dedicated to Lester and his production of ROBOTICA, a modern day Pygmalion... GENIUS.... its going to be the GREATEST MUSICAL EVER.

ok I'm done. sorry, that has nothing to do with the seven seas. LOL.

I always wondered why it wasn't called "the ocean". I mean, it all connects together, so really the divisions are arbitrary.

Hey stranger :D
I know I've been MIA for awhile...again. Spank me later ;)
I'm on my work comp, hubby on ours, so I'll check out the video later. Jessica is learned how to sing Schnappy's theme from youtube...the German crocodile. It's so freaking adorable! I'm sure she'll get a kick ou tthe Little Einsteins theme as well, thanks!

As for seven seas, I love the way it flows and mystic mystery it invokes in your imagination. I'm sure it did just start as something mystical but them people tried to start saying they've been to them so they had to start saying where they are.

I love all the kid videos you share here. I'm very much interested in children's programming, so it's neat to learn things here. I can't sit around and watch children's tv all day long like I used to. :(

I wish I could translate that for you -- you know -- phonetically -- to help your kiddo out. It goes a bit too fast for me though. They do count in the middle of it! haha

Oh that would be SOO cool! Then I could help him! I just kinda let him babble it out. lol. He gets all the notes right and it sounds like he's singing what they're saying, but I'm not too up on my Japanese to be sure. lol!
