Calling all Roleplayers.. [Oct. 15th, 2007|12:19 pm]

Mazes and Monsters is a far out game!

Roleplaying games are very dangerous. They lead to murder! lol. Watch some of the other links too if you're interested in seeing Tom Hanks.. old school, pre-oscar style.

And also, I got this, or a variation of this both on friends pages, and emails alike, so I figure it's time to pass on the love.

ETA: Apparently the email I'm referencing below is a HOAX. My bad!

I still put both my cell and home on the registry, because I've received telemarketing calls on my cell and home line, so better safe then sorry.

2nd ETA : Sorry this is so US centric! Anyone from the UK, or Australia, or any of the other countries represented by my friendslist have the national equivalant to this for your countries?

"All cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies tomorrow (Saturday, October 13, 2007 ( Ruh roh!) and you will start to receive sale calls.

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222
Visit: www.donotcall.gov

This is the National DO NOT CALL registry. It will only take a minute to registry your number, which will then be blocked for five (5) years. The call must be made from the number you want blocked.

Please pass this on to your friends and family."

( Also.. just for the sake of curiosity.. how many telemarketing calls do you get in the average week? Even with being on the no call list I'd say I get about 3. )

The first comment was deleted, so I don't know which part was supposed to be the hoax. The Do Not Call Registry, however, is very real. I still remember all the press when they passed this legislation in congress. Not to mention the radio and TV ads that we were bombarded with when they finally got it up and running.

We used to get telemarketing calls all the time on both landline phones and cell phones at my house. However, we haven't gotten a single one since we registered all of our phone numbers. The best part, though, is that telemarketers KNOW that they incur a very hefty fine if they call a number on the registry. There have been a couple of calls that have squeezed through since then, but just mention the registry and ask for their name (to report them, which I have done), and they will hang up SO FAST!

I've received one call since I registered on saturday, but they said that it can be 31 days, or what not.
