I positivly love Thoreau. How are you, Random, I haven't spoken to you in ages
And I'm hanging in here. I've been pretty sick, so that's kinda pissing me off, but I'm trying to stay positive.
Good to see you. It's been a long time! How are you? *hugs* What's new?
And great icon. =)
This year, I have met two wonderful, awesome persons, with whom I finally am pursuing so many of those dreams. :)
Thoreau was (and is) a pretty cool guy, by the way.
And the Charleston is a pretty awesome dance—especially in It's a Wonderful Life.
*hugs* I'm sooo glad things are going well for you.
I just realized the youtube I posted originally didn't take.. it's the charleston set to some different music. Much awesomeness and is updated now if you want to take a peek, being that you're a fan. ;)
I am currently pursuing my dreams. And I can't do the Charleston, my school doesn't allow dancing. (No joke.)
Totally feel your pain on the no dancing, I was there once. :) Where do you go to school?
I'll be doing the Charleston on Thursday when I make my regular 2 hour drive to go to an awesome swing dancing venue in Texas!! I <3 Lindy Hop, too, and Jitterbug!!
That is so freaking cool!!!
I wish I was a better dancer. I would love to be able to do those. That'd be sooo neat.
I posted a fun Charleston video now that didn't take in my original post. It's up now though. :)
I love Thoreau, but that's one I'd not heard/read. I think "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams" is now my motto for life now; 'direction' sounds so much more freeing than 'path' or any of those other things people usually tell you to follow. Reminds of Captain Kirk's, "Out there...thattaway." :)
Of course, I've also listened to the PotC: At World's End soundtrack about 5 times today at work, so I'm very much in the mood to go sail the seven seas, or conquer something. :)
It's a great motto for life isn't it? I really love it.
And aww! POTC will do that. The soundtracks are fab, aren't they? :)
Where will the seven seas carry you, do you think? :)
in five years i will be fresh out of college. i'll hopefully be going into the peace corps or some other organization like it. i really want to do aid work in africa or south america for several years, then i'll probably go to graduate school.
That's awesome. What will your major be? :)
I love Daft Punk, and that song works surprisingly well with the Charleston.
5 years from now dream wise I'd be doing stand-up on the Tonight Show.
5 years from now realistically I'll be paying off consumer debt and almost ready to buy a house (assuming I can keep saving at current levels).
Is the name of the song Daft Punk or is it the group? I want to download the song so I want to know what to look for, can you help me? :)
And I lurve it!!!
I like the Tonight Show track, personally. :)
five years from now i'll be right out of college (hopefully) and (hopefully) engaged, ready to start my teaching career.
Sounds like an awesome plan. :)
HMM...honestly, I think I'll get a record deal when I'm 22 (I'm 21 now). I have no clue why, but even if I don't get it by next year, I hope/expect to be a singer by then. If not, I HAVE no fucking idea. I just hope I'll be happier and smarter and not a virgin. HAHA
What kind of singing do you do? I wish the best for you!
That Thoreau quote was the theme of my high school graduation so I can't quite hear it without thinking of high school all filled with hope and different dreams. That was five years ago. Funny how life changes (o:
I don't know what I'll do any more. I used to always know and now it's up in the air and I'll just have to learn to deal with it. Hate that feeling too (o:
*hugs* Where do you ~want to be?
man, that's going to SO stick in my brain!!!
...and so is the quote. Will try to drop in more often.
I'm glad you liked them. I did too. :) Good to see ya. *hugs*
teaching in a coastal community on O'ahu. an hour commute every day. hoping to move to a nearer school in a few years. living with a girlfriend. working on writing...something, anyway.
Yeah the song is "Around The World" by Daft Punk. I've got that CD and its pretty cool!
