|||||Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy - Andrews Sisters||]|
Darn! I was going to do this cool LJ meme where it posts everyone's user pics, but unfortunately it stopped at the N's... so I'll have to try that one a different day when the computer's behaving better.
So instead... I guess you get another historical fact!
The violinist and composer Tartini dreamed that he handed his violin to the Devil and listened while the Devil played a sonata of astonishing beuaty. When he tried to reproduce the sonata on awakning, he could only remember one repeated trill. He used this trill as his theme in his "Trillo del Diavolo".
- When was your last nightmare? Mine was last night. Someone electrocuted my septuplets. *boggles*
And here's the Andrews Sister's doing Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy. Awesomeness. :)
( Eta the link. Whoops. LOL There ya go!)
I actually had a mild bad dream last night in which 1st - I was back in high school for some reason, and failing (ugh I have that one a lot) and then our kittens kept escaping and mom said we had to get rid of them! :( not like, terrible nightmares, but I wokeup feeling uneasy, you know?
there is this book called The Voice of the Wood that is very cool... it is about a cello maker. LOL so its really only LOOSELY related to your blog - its a children's book, but has this like, serious quality to it, sort of like Oscar Wilde's The Happy Prince.
lol, see, being back in high school can either be awesome or nightmarish depending on the context. Failing would not be awesome. lol. -- Awww. Poor kitty. :( Terrible enough. Anything you wake up feeling cruddy from pretty much is a nightmare on some level, right?
Ooooooh. Interesting. How much of a Childrens book is it? Like toddler friendly? Or more for school age kids?
I got my own kid, and a slightly older neice with a birthday coming up, so I'm always on the look out... but if it's about the devil giving the cello'st music... my sister will crucify me. hehehe
Voice of the Wood
- probably for older kid, young kid might find it boring - hey there's a play
based on it! awesome.
if you like "profound" children's books, I also loved The Mountains of Tibet
, though that's about reincarnation from a buddhist standpoint lol is your sister very christian?
and The Dream Eater
(reading rainbow approved!) is REALLY great. this could go younger or older. As you can see, I had a lot of asian influenced books cause my dad is chinese american.
and lastly...because...i loooove giving book recommendations, some fun frivolous kids books:One Kitten for KimFancy Nancy
another favorite of mine was Fanny McFancy; A Passion for Fashion, but its out of print and on amazon it's 50 bucks. LOL its not THAT great!
I cna't wait to check these out when I'm not at work and have open shopping access.. muahaha
