yesterday! summer sooo ups the shower/shave ante. *sigh*
Don't I know it.
I'm sick, so I don't really give two poo's right now about legshaving, but I'm goign to the Doctor, and I feel like they judge you if you're dirty. LOL.
But I'm not blowdrying my hair for her! She can have it in all it's curly wet goodness, darn it. ;)
Yesterday . . . I am lazy and still in pyjamas.
Nothin' wrong with that. I'd still be in PJ's if I could be. Believe you me.
Primitive hair tips! This was really useful though, because I've always had a devil of a time getting all the coal dust out of my hair. Thank you Prelude to Charm!
It's a bitch. I think that the vinegar will help. Report back to us? :)
I showered last night because I'm a hero. Also I'm trying to get the red dye out of my hair...or least tame it down a little. Yikes!
And I love that we're looking for little things about you to unearth your secret identity (well, not really, how many people do I know right now with red hair and kids? Lots!).
Someday I want to be as cool as the guy with his glasses....
Awww, was yours too red? :(
And right? lol. Not all that unique... ;) At least not by the bits ya'll know. And that dude is totally awesome. :)
I'm about to go in the shower now, lol.
Actually, a recent study showed that washing hair is not only unnecessary, but often produces unwanted results.
The best bet is to rinse the hair thoroughly, but don't use a cleaner. Just water. Several studies have suggested this as the best way for healthy hair.
The "100 strokes a day" thing dates back to a time when people rarely bathed at all. It was a way to spread the natural scalp oil along the full length of the hair and away from the head. Fortunately, these days rather than bathing once every several weeks, most people bathe daily.
Also, less brushing and combing is better, because it prevents damage to the hair.
I'm not sure if I buy that study. It's not a good idea to wash your hair every single day, but I'll tell you my hair certainly looks a lot nicer and smells a lot nicer if I wash it every other day or so.
What kind of unwanted results did this study show?
It seems to me that when I've let my hair go and don't brush it or wash it as often as I am accustomed to it does a lot more damage to my hair.. Th more snarled it is the more it seems to break for me anyway...
Cool video!
I tend to "launder" my hair when I shower, which is daily-- and I don't even live in a high coal dust area! (It's mostly just cows around here.) 'Course, things were different when I worked down the mines.
I only use brilliantine on special occasions though. ;)
lol! Awww. The mines. Those were the days, weren't they?
I try to shower daily and pretty much have to wash my hair daily or else it's.... gross and oily.
*nod* I can get by every other day, but anything beyond that just isn't pretty.
Oh shit, I knew I'd been forgetting something!
My last shower was a half hour from now... (Deleted comment) (Deleted comment)
*nod* I bet it smells nice. :)
I was thinking about this yesterday because I ran out of shampoo.
The only reality shows I ever got into were the historical living ones. On 1900 house, the family cheated and bought shampoo because their hair was SOO GREASY! THey tried all that herbal stuff and said it was just awful. I guess nothing does the job like ammonium lauryl sulfate.
Oh that Kismet song - my mom made me sing it for an audition once because of my voice type and I felt so awkward because it was so dated.
In addition to that, the greasy no shampoo thing explains to me why my clean straight hair will never do that cool 1906 poofy bun thing. |
