Dang, I was trying to find a news story about some shmoe who was killed by a horseshoe that he put up... :(
Ooh! I guess his luck ran out. That really happened?
Keep nightmares away? But if you want to personify a nightmare, it's going to be a horse. And giving them shoes sounds like a pretty crappy way to dissuade them from hanging out in your bedroom.
lol. *shrug* Got it from my superstition book.
If I was going to personify a nightmare it'd be a clown.
Well, maybe that's a more fitting image, but a mare is a horse. So a nightmare would be... a nocturnal horse?
Ooooh, Right. *nod* Hmm. I wonder what the origins of the word are.
i wish i was good at horseshoes.
I can honestly say I've never tried.
My grandpa keeps then facing up in trees!
Really? Like all the treeson his proprety, orthe ones facing north?
He just puts one in this huge oak in his front yard. He's half irish/italian second generation immigrant. My grandma was third generation pure irish. Super catholic.
Did they bring it back with them from Europe then, that ritual?
Ooh. *nod* That makes more sense to me, if I was going to do it.
Randomposting. :) Nice to meet you.
You're welcome, of course! :)
It actually works, lol.
I love The Little Mermaid :P
You've attempted it? Any stories to share?
Well, My Grandfather used to hang the horseshoe above the guest room doorway until the day he died. My uncle took it down right after he died. Then all of a sudden, strange stuff has been happening. When we went back for a visit months later, I hung it back up in the guest room, and the weird stuff stopped.
That is my story, lol.
Yeah, lol. It actually worked :P
