I've seen that newspaper clipping before. I say we stamp people like her out... if you ask me, they're the reason our country is so far behind, globally and socially. People like her are the reason we have so much hate in our country, they're the reason that our democracy isn't quite as democratic as it could be.
When people like her suppress the views of atheists, gays, African Americans, what-have-you... that's when I get a little depressed about our country. I guess it just gives me more reason to fight against it, though.
if you ask me, they're the reason our country is so far behind, globally and socially.
I agree with the other things you said, but how can you say that our country is behind the others?
that video was EXTREMELY well done.
i almost wish i was fat, now.
Dude. I felt the same way. XD
Hmmm...I wonder whats up with the Kenai River...
and I definitely thought the same thing,
Wow. What kinda bullshit is THAT?!
I'd also like to point out, our ancestors came here for "Freedom of religion", yet we killed all the indians who wouldn't turn christian.
...Damn. I people sometimes. And that lady is a GREAT example of why.

God hates blacks??? Right, how again?
As a Christian, her letter hurts my brain and my soul. I'd like to think that's a joke, but I don't have that much faith in humanity.
Nor I. :( I think she means every word, and it's pretty scary.
ahahah, that article was hillarious!
and about the fat rant lady..
she is just a fat person. she doesn't look revolting and unhealthy. she eats carrots! yay! she dresses herself well. she excersises. i have nothing against her. the thing is, a lot of UNHEALTHILY fat people will probably see videos like this, and be like "omg yeah ok! i'm gonna dress slutty!" or some such. wait, nevermind, they do anyway.
yes, some people are meant to be of a larger figure.
i'm glad at least she mentioned the bit about being thin .. because, err, everyone on both sides of my family are stick figures. which also, makes it hard to find clothes. my sister though, (we have different moms), somehow turned out to be about my height but with a skeleton twice as wide. it's awesome. she could kick some major ass, and she loves bakin' brownies . and then we eat them :D
i like it when people aren't mad that they're fat.
what a waste of time THAT is.
yeah, people should just ... be healthy, live their lives.
*nod* People come in all shapes and sizes, and it's good. The sooner that the fashion and media industries embrace that idea the happier everyone will be, I think. There's too many little girls out there killing themselves to be thin. It's sad.
The Fat Rant is amazing
just in terms of execution, it's so clean and well done - i made a video project a little while ago and so i feel like i have just a glimpse of how difficult it is to make a video like that
as for the message,
it's blatantly honest, sincere, downright true, and something that should have been said a while ago, but i'm glad she was the one to do it

Wow, you've got to have guts to put something like that out. haha.
But anyway, one of my best friend's is atheist, and my other best friend is agnostic (when I'm a Christian) and I love them both--they are very decent people and think a lot like me. I hate people who try to trash other religions, though, that's for sure.
And yeah. hehe, I was looking for more conflict, I like a good debate but so far everyone's on the same page.
Was that an Alaskan newspaper?
I really don'tknow. Found it in the interwebs.
Hey, I made a video yesterday. A lot of my friends have said it's good. I was wondering if you would consider watching it. You don't need to share it or feel pressured to share it, but I'd love your opinion on it.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mt1RyZ7XwYQ
Oooh! I will checkit out soon. My web's being a little wonky for youtube's today but I will DEFINITELY watch it later. :)
Also, i think the lady in the video is very pretty.
*nod* I think she is too.
But you have to believe in ONLY the Christian form of God!
Prayer isn't in public schools because not ALL children that attend are of the SAME religion. When people talk of prayer in schools they're not talking about Buddhist prayer, Shinto prayer, Taoist prayer... they're talking Christian prayer. Uggh. I don't think these people will ever get this through their thick skulls.

Ya know...I really hope that is tongue-in-cheek. If not, then that lady really needs to learn more about the case that led to prayer, specifically state-endorsed Christian prayer, being taken out of schools. The case never said prayer could not happen in schools; the ruling was that the schools--as representatives of the 'state'--could not endorse any specific religion. So after the ruling was handed down, a bunch of overzealous and/or over-reacting school administrators dictated there would be no prayer in schools. /head-desk head-desk/ And, people have been bitching ever since.
Okay. I'll stop my rant. Can you tell that's a sore spot for me?
The fat rant is pretty cool. Just wish I were as shapely as the woman in the video. I'd definitely wear more flattering clothes if I were not round! Heh. :P
We're on the same page it appears.
