Otherwise I'll never catch up, cause I can't risk being fired for you pervies!

*shakes fist*

And..

The Food and Drug Adminsitration says the most common injury from cosmetics comes from scratching the eye with an mascara wand.

Owwy. Never done that in truth. Poked my eye with eyeliner though. Oww.

What's your worst makeup experience? ;)

I've seen people who seperate their eyelashes with a safety pin or tooth pick... and miss.

i dont think i've had too terrible an EXPERIENCE.... but it took me awhile to develop TECHNIQUE. I distinctly remember one day in sophomore year of high school where i was wearing olive green eyeshadow and red lipstick.

Psh. I've seen worse. ;) In fact, I think given the right outfit and hair those colors wouldn't be TERRIBLE together.

I think all the early makeup attempts were bad experiences...oy vey. My mother had this thing with wanting A LOT of blush on. Think thick lines of DARK RED up my cheek bones. I'm a pale little kid, it looked bad.

For a few years now, I've been playing faery characters at various Renaissance festivals, in plays, etc. Teh traditional spirit-gum-and-prosthesis method for ears was really not working for us: for one thing, it was hard to get the ears to look like anything approaching real, and some us had a problem using the spirit gum. (Don't know if it was a body chemistry thing when we were sweating or just the heat, but the stuff wouldn't stick for beans.) After experimenting with various methods, some of us came up with something new: nail glue. It's non-toxic, bonds instantly, super-adhesive, and will wash off with a little warm water and scrubbing. I've occasionally lost little bits of skin, but I've never passed out from blood loss, so I stick with the method. :) (No pun intended. Ouch.) It helps, though, if you have really small ears; that awy yours ears will fold and flue down easily, and look very pointed. :)

Don't know if that qualifies as a worst makeup experience, since it works, but it's certianly the craziest and most potentially dangerous thing I've ever done with makeup. :)

*nod* It's great... if it's under a cut. That doesn't bother me at all. It's when I can't load a page without running the risk of someone at work seeing it and getting fired.

oh i just thought of a terrible makeup experience. When I played the Witch in Into the Woods, for some reason, I'd change into like, my blouse and skirt, and then I'd put on the ugly witch nose, which really just looked like a HUGE SCHNOZ... And then I'd have to wait to put on the rest. Why I did it this way every night I dont know, but I do know that I'd practically cry every night seeing myself in a ponytail with a nose that huge. LOL apparently, I'm emotionally masochistic.

there. two comments a post from me is MORE than enough ;-)

lol. ;)

I love that part. I'd prefer to be the Bakers Wife, but I wouldn't turn down either.

Unfortunately, I know if I auditioned I would almost definitely be a shoe in for Little Red. Grrrrrrr.

Pervy pics? Eep. COnsidering how many kids are on LJ, that's scary.
Since I'm a guy, I don't have much experience with cosmetics, but I did once fall asleep for 12 hours with my contacts in (I was on a plane and forgot my eye contact container in my luggage and I had to peel my contacts off when I got to my aunt's house.

Well, pervy really depends on your description of pervy. I didn't really find them pervy, they wouldn't have bothered me at all, were my work policy not to fire anyone looking at what they consider "porn". So it's uber frustrating for me, when I can't read my journal at work, because it's the only time I ever have really to catch up with my reading of the entries.

Nakie people? *hides eyes and peeks out through her fingers*

I've stabbed myself with mascara wands... more than once... it HURTS. My worst make-up experience would probably be one time i tried a new brand of each type of make-up all at once... my mom's foundation (which i never wear), eye-liner, mascara, lip stuff.... and turned out to be allergic to everythign but the eye-liner. Not fun.

Oh noooo!!!

I've never been allergic to medicine, thank God, but I've had a few bad experiences with liquid eyeliner. It Burns.

Trying to get stage makeup off with exfoliating face wash. It was like smearing white hot gravel all over my face, and then removing it by scalping myself.
