In June 1999, a Munich policeman was severely disciplined for stripping off his clothes at work and exercising in his underwear late in the day when he thought he was alone in the station. Wrong-- A female officer saw him and reported him for sexual harassment. “I had no idea anybody else was still in the office.” the man explained, telling the court that he stripped out of his clothes because he sweats a lot. The court docked his pay 12.5% for the next five years. The total amount of his fine? About $53,000.

Aww, that kinda sucks for that guy. I mean, true he should have checked to see if anyone else was there, but why was he exercising on the job?

Well, I think it makes sense to have a work out area at a police station. You want your policefolk to be in good shape.. but undressing to work out? That's just weird.

Ah, well that makes sense. I thought he was just like a desk cop, one of the cops that does paper work and doesn't have active outside work.

I've been caught excercising at work and singing my lungs out to my iPod when I didn't know anyone else was in the office. Given my singing voice (as well as the contents of my iPod) I think I would have been less humiliated to have been caught nekkid!

Why couldn't she just ask the guy to stop or go to her superior and get him/her to do it? This doesn't seem an appropriate case for sexual harrassment to apply.

I agree. I wonder if they had some history or something and if she as out to get him.

Awww, poor guy.

And that's a WHOLE lot of money, even if he -actually had- assualted her!

I dont' agree with that at all. If he had assaulted her he should have gotten much worse then that, but he didn't really do anything.

All the same... keep your clothes on when your exercising is the morale of this story.

It depends on the assualt.

I mean like... if he was saying "hey baby" and stuff like that... that's rediculous.

But, if he raped her or something, Yeah. Then i could see thousands of dollars and a swim in a shark-filled pool.

Saying "Hey Baby" really doesn't constitute as assault to me. I think that's a very powerful world that should only be used when appropriate but people use it for every little whistle and "hey baby/sexy" comment, and I think that's bs.

Yeah, that's what i was thinking of... but now i think about it that's "harassment" not "assualt".... harassment is pretty much a bunch of crap to me. Unless they actually -do- something, honestly what can someone saying something do? It can make you blush or get embarrassed... but.. *shrug*

I think it really depends on the degree though. If some asshat at work was telling me every day all the filthy things he wanted to do with me,and I wasn't keen that would defnitely piss me off.
