me like poem... hope you enjoy too =P
A Happy Man
When these graven lines you see,
Traveller, do not pity me;
Though I be among the dead,
Let no mournful word be said.
Children that I leave behind,
And their children, all were kind;
Near to them and to my wife,
I was happy all my life.
My three sons I married right,
And their sons I rocked at night;
Death nor sorrow never brought
Cause for one unhappy thought.
Now, and with no need of tears,
Here they leave me, full of years,--
Leave me to my quiet rest
In the region of the blest.

That's sweet, I love the last couple of lines.
Missing someone gets easier everyday.
Because, even though it is one day further
from the last time you saw each other,
it is one day closer to the next time you will.
I absolutely adore that. Thank you. *HUGS*
I think I heard a quote like that.
"When you are were born, everyone around you was smiling and you were crying. Live your life so that when you die, you are smiling and everyone around you is crying."
feel better *hugglez*
Do not stand on my grave and weep;
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on the snow.
I am the sunlight on the ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush;
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in a circled flight.
I am the stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.
idk, at my funeral, I seriously want people to not wear black - to wear more colorful and cheery clothes. i want there to not be that unspoken rule that you can't laugh or have any fun. Yes, it would be nice if they were respectful, but I hope my funeral is more focused on celebrating my life than mourning my death
I agree... it's like my friend told me... I want my friends and family to celebrate the life I lived... not cry and mourn over the fact that I'm dead...
but that sounds kind of harsh... hopefully it's not taken the wrong way... =P

The world rejoiced.......
I don think the world rejoiced when I was born, I did cry though getting dropped on an instrument tray does that to ya. I bet when I die, some folks will rejoice. Although its a dark thought. When someone dies, its a great loss. When their memory is betrayed its an even greater loss. So remember the fallen in yer lifes, they we will remember you.
My mom always says I came out crying like a mad cat and never shut up. :)
hahaha, that rocks... it just made me laugh, not sure why... but I enjoyed reading that just now!

I almost died yesterday.............
But I didn't, and now I'm quite thankful, cos I've got a lot of living left to do. :-)
i think me, and many people will rejoice when i die, unfortunately, if i take the natural course, that will be a long long long time from now...who knows, mebbe i'll keel over right now haha.

i didn't cry when i was born; i "cooed," as my mother calls it. and when i got my shot i cried silent tears -- weird, right?
anyway in some cultures it's the other way around. they cry when you're born and rejoice when you're dead. life is hard -- the afterlife probably isn't.
When did I die?
I didn't notice.
That reminds me of:
For certain is death for the born
And certain is birth for the dead;
Therefore over the inevitable
Thou shouldst not grieve.
