Puddle Graphic

Now THAT is prolific.

Felix Lope de Vega Carpio, the renowned Spanish dramatic poet born in 1562, wrote an estimated 1,500 plays - not to speak of countless poems, epics, and prose works. Of these 1,500 plays about 500 survive. De Vega penned his first drama at the age of 11 while a student at a Jesuit school. From that moment on, he poured out a torrent of theatrical works the like of which has never been equaled.
