I wonder why it did it like that? It wasn't like that in my photobucket.
I think the idea comes across.
I made an entry about just this, I think I will post it here..
*nod* Please feel free.
I read it, I believe.
( I'll be honest, I didn't comment because you had said your mood was creative and I was wondering if it was more a writing exercise.)
Shit is fucked up. This whole world, humanity in general, what is going on?? We got Rice, this undoubtably priveleged woman who is complaining about having to keep traveling overseas. Wait a minute, she is in charge of our nations foreign relations! She is going through international negotiations through the United Nations discussing how we should handle this whole trigger-happy Israel dilema. The funny part is, Israel, the fucking counrty that is invading Lebanon, isn't even going to be involved in the debate! We got children dying for fucks sake! Bombs flying and the world inching closer and closer to the next great war. Wile our national problems are also stupid, people are so confident with the ways things are going nobody is bothering to make sure we are in check. We are shitting all over everyone, social security is going to crumble, we are outsourceing to India who is going to be the next superpower VERY soon. We had everything but we are being stupid about it, we aren't doing all that we can to remain on top of things, we are cocky. We are too obsessed with American Idol than our international debacle that we are in. Why? Because we are so concerned with this one large commercial we are living in we fail to realize we are merely model subjects to their wide-scale conditioning. What is happening to local businesses? Why is vanity becoming so important? Why is the nation literally split in two by opposing political paries? These are the questions we need to ask ourselves and get to teh bottom of. You know that George Washington once said that the nation should never be devided within itself, and you know what? Last time that happened we had a civil war! Don't be so high and mighty to think we won't get into another one. In fact I expect us to have another one, and we will as long as we don't have a governing body that is willing to compromise. We need to remember we are all just human beings in this world and we just need to have empathy for others, not hate. I really hope we can turn this world around. Imagine.

Re: Man Oh Man...
This fight has been going on for thousands of years. There is not going to be an easy-happy-lets-give-them-poptarts anwser to this.
Israel has made it clear there will be no comprimise. So has Hazbulah. So has Labanon. They have no interest in peace, they only want to 'win', to lay claim to this (ironically) holy land that has been a battlefront since the birth of religion.
Rice went because it is her job, but what is she supposed to do? Make them stop fighting? We consider Israel our allies, so her trip was more in preperation for the UN Summit (That Israel is not a part of because...well, they are not interested in UN politics) than for a "cease fire". Her trip was an attempt to establish what Isreal wanted, and what their side of this fight was about this time around. She got a temporary cease fire, which is more than she probroley hoped for. So yeah, Israel isn't involved because they are not prepared for a peaceful solution, and if the fighting escalates, they could likely call for allied assistance...as could Lebanon. Then, countries like the US will have to choose between losing an alliance, or assisting in a war. Both have potentially severe consequences to world society as a whole.
Also, as a side note- India has to break out of the second-world cycle before they become a world power, which is not likely anytime soon. Their population is still undergoing an explosive growth rate, although people ar eliving longer and better. This leads to overcrowding, not enough public services, and a government that cannot keep up. Until those issues are solved, it doesn't matter if Americans have to have their McDonalds burgers expressed shiped from Bangladesh to their tray, they are not going to become a super power. Could they? Yes, definetly. Is America on the down and out? Possibly, depending on how you read the trends.
Oh, And Social Security was never intended to be a long term program, and was enacted when the lifespan was shorter, medical technology was no where near as advanced, and most companies had never considered instating a "401k" or "Retirement Plan" that would support someone for more than 10 years.
I got a broken link on this end.
i dont think its very funny.
Well... From a English point of view...
This is something that we only have ourselves to blame for. Not only did we split up and divide Isreal when we had absolutly no right to due to "human rights" and "making things fair", but we sit in the UN doing nothing!
But my opinion is that these people will ALWAYS fight. If we manage a cease fire now, it just means the war will continue somewhere else, or at a later date.
We need to leave these countries to sort it out for themselves. Isreal doesnt need America to tell them what to do, and Western involvment only angers the Hezbollah group further! This situation requires us to wait untill a good time to stop this war.
This kind of thing has been going on forever, these brutalities, but now becuase of media they seem much worse than before
The must worrying aspect is the UN lacking in ANY power or negotiation ability. Once again NOTHING is done as they sit back and talk about it. It just shows the UN is all talk no action and is run by the US anyway
Its messed up, but the UN is basically the happy face we slap on our messed up foreign policy. It serves as a forum for other nations to vent some steam without ever actually accomplishing anything, providing the appearance of influence with no actual substance. Meanwhile we pretend to be hostile to the organization, giving its members the illusion that the UN has the power to at least annoy us, and all the while we know it can never do anything we really don't want it to. All in all its a pretty useful tool.
At least when you guys did the empire thing you provided a civil service and tried to bring some infrastructure and advancement. We seem to be stuck in this corporate rape and pillage mode, and lately the neo-con, theocratic ideology that's been grafted on top of that pursuit has only made things worse. I really hope we snap out of it and start trying to help put together the kind of systems that would lead to global stability and sustainable prosperity, but I'm not holding my breath. The people in power are making too much money with the status quo.
Those photos really put the whole thing in perspective. Its just got to stop.
all of the people that dont care about this fucking war are dieing. its not fair.
Exactly. It breaks my heart.
and there's still more too come. just wait a little while, things will get worse, but then they'll get better. i'm praying for all those families man, this sucks.
I just wish we could get the kids out of there before it gets worse. *sigh*
*heart everyone in Lebanon and Israel* The entire thing is just so backward and unnecesary. I hate it so much, and the world leaders for doing nothing.
I'm nt sure what all they can do though, you know?
In a very short time, and with only a few accidental turns this could easily develop into World War III, and I was hoping not to see that in my or my sons lifetime.
And I certainly don't heart all of Lebanon or Israel. There are people on both ends making this happen, prolonging it and picking targets that have children predominantly in them. Pisses me off.
Heart the goood people. The rest should fuck off.
Yeah.. and I just got a CNN update in my box saying that Israel's cabinet has approved furthering the ground war in Lebanon. They're bringing back tons of reservists.
This is getting very bad boys and girls.
After thinking about this for a while I've decided that whilst I obviously don't agree with a lot of what people think, I also don't want to come across as a dick.
This is your house or whatever and who am I to come shouting my bit?
