[music |A purring cat.]

Britian’s Vegetarian Society launched an advertising campaign in movie theatres portraying vegetables as sex objects. The 40 second spots, which the group made to spice up vegetables boring imagine, involve suggestively shaped chilies, melon fondling and a flaccid asparagus. “We tried to avoid the real chiche’s like cucumbers and eggplants.” Said the organizations head of public affairs, Chris Dessent, who added the spots have no cauliflower. “Just couldn’t make cauliflower sexy. We succeded with a bean though. We shot a male hand gently tickling one.”

-- Have any of my British folks seen this? LOL! I wonder if it's up on You Tube! *must search*

Was that the everyman campaign? There used to be one here called "Rachel gets Fruity", but it's moved, maybe someone can find it?

Nice! That's awesome. I should really post that for all of the gentlemen on here.

It said it was for the vegetarian society of Britain that these were posted for, so I don't think they're the same thing.

I haven't really had much of a problem. You can even find a number of vegetarian foods even at fast food restaurants.

you know if I wasn't looking for innuendo I would have just thought it was a commercial with random vegetables. On second thought, I would have gotten it eventually with the bean flicking.

I'm so naive I am a failure to teenagers everywhere. ./cry.

i seem to remember a show (and i'll be darned if i can remember which) that showed a lady who seductively shopped for her veggies. it showed her groping a potato and finally taking it home where she carved it into a phallic shape, had her way with it and then ate it.

the point of this story is that it's not too much of a stretch to look at vegetables as sex objects. though, i have to wonder at the logic of their idea; would you eat a sex object? sets a bad precedent, if you ask me.
