Mmhmm. :) I want some, but my head hurts to bad to deal with the scent.
Why am I online with a headache you ask?
Because I'm the smarterest.
Right. Should probably lay down now. :)
Wow, I didn't think that coffee had spread to Europe by then (but I'm awful at historical dates, so this shouldn't be surprising).
Well, my book could certainly be wrong. *shrug*
the oldest continuously running cafe is this one in Venice... http://www.caffeflorian.com/I adored it... To sip and sup where byron and casanova sipped and supped~ sigh
ps but your book is correct ... that is the first the first in paris~
i personally dont like how cofee tastes, but i'm glad they opened a place that smells that good....
Mmm. I love me some coffee, let me tell ya. :) I'll even drink bad fast food coffee, if that's all that's available.
its nice to wake up at 3:30 in the afternoon, be making some coffee, and then reading this interesting fact about a cafe and coffee.
Niiiice! =) I got to nap today too. It was beautiful. I even missed a couple calls, I was sleeping to hard. God bless imitrex, I say. :)
I didn't used to like coffee very much, but since working in a cafe with it for a year I decided it was actually pretty good.
Paris and coffee would be good right about now.
Gosh, wouldn't it?
Mmm. International travel is my cup of coffee, let me tell ya. :)
Did you mean "The first Parisian cafe to serve coffee opened in 1689" or did they open just to serve coffee?
Enquiring minds want to know.
I actually directly quoted from my yellow hardcover 1970's factbook I got at the thrift store awhile back. Sorry love. I can google it and try to get more info if you like? That was the only sentence they gave me.
i LOVE coffee.. i love its smell i love its taste... and i love the coffee house invironment... i once went to one with my friend and we sat around playing hangman for three hours.
yay for pointlessness.
Oh gosh. I looooove coffee houses. I know a lot of people here are anti-smoking, but I miss that in a lot of cities you can't smoke with your coffee anymore. Back when I was all emo,(LOL) I would bring my journal and just write... smoke... and drink, and pretend I was living in the turn of the century. Alas, no more.
but you it was better than starbucks.
I'm assuming in Paris. ;)
Perhaps Montmarte?
I want some right now. I'm tired. lol.
I got me a Mikes Hard Lemonade and am just chillin'. I sure wanted some this morning though.
you wouldnt happen to know the name would you?
Alas. The book didn't say. :(
Starbucks must be jealous |
