Take the five nearest books and...
Book 1 first sentence
Book 2 last sentence on page 50
Book 3 second sentence on page 100
Book 4 next to last sentence on page 150
Book 5 final sentence

*grabs 5 nearest books* Like so! :)

When a dire situation is at hand, safe and sane alternatives may not exist. Far be it from my heart, the thought thereof. Through their community parks, recreation departments, and fine schools, children may compete in almost any sport. I had an emergency. Now I must write again.

Your turn -- :) Looking forward to reading these. I have a really busy week coming up, so if I'm not around as much, my apologies, I'll try and catch up when things return to normal.

It was nearing midnight and the Prime Minister was sitting alone in his office, reading a long memo that was slipping through his brain without leaving the slightest trace of meaning behind. Once a year he visited the old mansion. Frank's spirits sank. "true, you are your father's little Fabala," crooned Nanny, almost to herself, just outside the circle of smiling faces. As Hagrid said, what would come, would come...and he would have to meet it when it did.

You're absolutely right! (Nice icon, by the way!)

For the record, my other books are:
1. "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" by J.K. Rowling.
2. "The Elements of Style" by William Strunk, Jr. and E.B. White.
3. "A Place of Hiding" by Elizabeth George.
4. "Wicked" by Gregory Maguire.
5. "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" by J.K. Rowling.

I liked that you framed them with Harry Potter. :)

It's on my bookshelf waiting to be read. I need to get around to that.

I finally got around to reading The Devil Wears Prada though, so I am one step closer.
