A 48 year old man in Hennepin County, Minnesota, was accused of using his status as a Mason to coerce a woman into having sex. The woman said the man stopped by to drop off some information on the Masons for her husband, who was seeking membership in the Masonic Temple. After grabbing her, handcuffing her hands above her head, and beating her with a leather strap, he told her that if she didn’t cooperate with his sexual advances her husband would not become a mason. The victim said she was afraid to report the incident for fear of jeapordizing her husbands chances.
