Yah... that was always something I enjoyed thinking about.
*nod* It really makes you fel small, doesn't it?
so then... there could have been a tigon!
It's because I killed them all. I went back in time. It was totally awesome.
Tell this to all the conservative republicans...

we could be next ;-D
I wouldn't doubt it,honestly, love.
heeee she said "coming"
Well yeah, the earth has survived being hit with meteros that destroyed pretty much nearly everything, I think that humans would have to try a lot harder than we are to destroy the WORLD. We could probably kill ourselves off but I don't think we give the earth the credit it deserves in terms of resillience
Or y'know, I could be wrong. I just hate doomsayers
Oops. Let's pretend that me misspelling meteors doesn't completely ruin my intellectual credibility.
Strike one! haha
GOd, reading that just made me say, "So What The Hell are people complaining for?"
OK, maybe it's wrong to say that. But oh well.
Do you not believe in evolution, m'dear?
And here in my state we are worried about the extinction of the silvery minnow.
how interesting. Do you know what the .1% of non-extinct was?
That would be what's alive today. ;)
(And also, what has henceforth died out since the coming of man.)
*nod* There's definitely a fair bit of that, on every planet I imagine.
Meh, BS if ya ask me...
And, to pre-empt the question, no, I don't believe in evolution. For that matter, I think it's outright idiocy. That all life forms are random chance and mutations? Considering most of the attempts to prove it true tend to prove it false...
Now, I *do* believe in natural selection... And, I do believe that species have a sort of evolution over time. But, I don't think that's where everything came from. It's sorta like dog breeding... Over time, you can create a new breed of dog, but, it's still a damn dog.
...If we came from monkies, what the fsck kind of improvement is it to lose the tail and feet that were usefull for something other than standing on and kicking things?
The lack of any real "missing links" existing is just icing on the cake... Of course, most people just ignore the fact that all the supposed steps in-between evolutionary stages just don't exist (o.o)
For that matter, if we came from monkies, why the hell are there still monkies? And, why haven't we continued to evolve? We're the same as we were in the earliest recorded histories... We may think we're smarter because we have little green bits of paper and digital watches, but, that's not evolution.
My response to this is that evolution isn't an overnight thing...it tends to happen over millions of years...and we (aka humans) have only been around for a few million years.
Though, that isn't to say I don't believe there were species extinct before we came along...
Just not *that* many... That'd mean there'd been over 1000 times the species there are now through the time before mankind came around... And, we *still* don't know how many there are in existence today! (o.o)
This is a good point. I think what they're suggesting is especially the water creatures that were what the other animal creatures spawned from, single cell and what not.. I imagine there had to have been A LOT of them to get to where we are today.
