It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

My favorite Aristotle quote is "There was never a genius without a tincture of madness." ^_^

But tee hee, I do like this one.

Why do you think that is, that there must be some kind of madness if there is genius?

Or rather, I should say, why do you think it has been said? I don't mean to say that you have accepted it, of course. You might just be entertaining the idea.

*smile* It is good of you to inquire. I've been entertaining the idea for a while now. I suppose like people who are 'mad' they think in different ways than "normal" people do, much like I would imagine a 'genius' would (using quotes to generalize). There's that dividing line between genius and madness that fascinates me so...think about things such as the inventions made by a genius...people must have thought them mad in their time to consider such a thing. And just imagine back in Aristotle's time with superstition and such running rampant amidst advances in society and thought. I would imagine some would have thought him mad.

I do believe I've rambled, lol. But anyway, those are some of my scattered thoughts on the matter. ^_^
