Camel hairbrushes are NOT made of camels’ hair. They are made of squirrels’ hair.

Interestingly, flying squirrels are actually flying camels.

A rare occurence, I got first post...Hell must have frozen over for sure. Its quite interesting the namse they give some items in order to make them more appealing. Camel is definately more exotic than squirrel.

You don't brush your hair? *blink*

And this was awhile back that these were used, I believe, for hairbrushes anyway. I have a "camel hair hairbrush" that belonged to my Grandma when she was a girl and that was like the turn of the century.

Squirrel-hair Brushes are made from Okapi shavings.

It's a merryground of mammalia.

Did you know that most good shaving brushes are made of badger hair

Often wondered to myslef if there is a whole profession out there that catches and shaves badgers just for their hair. Badger Shearing

Now WHY does this post have that sort of knowing wink to it....IT IS TRUE

Badger hair helps me shave

And if the badger shavers use a badger hair brush. If so, which came first: the badger brush with which to get the badger hair, or vice versa?

As the Addams Family pointed out, neither are Girl Scout cookies made from actual Girl Scouts.

Ah, for a little truth in advertising.
