It's true! You can go blind! [Mar. 2nd, 2006|12:36 pm]

Vigorous sex can cause blurred vision, according to Johns Hopkins University researchers. The temporary condition called Valsav retinopathy, usually is associated with other forms of exertion, such as weightlifting or with prolongued vomiting or severe coughing. It results from tiny blood vessels breaking or delicate tissue at the back of the eyeball tearing. Dr, Neil M. Bressler, a coauthor of the study, commented, “Maybe this gives us a physical explanation as to why there were some old wives’ tales that certain sexual activities could result in blindness.”

Sometimes it even helps to not be able to see that well. ;)

I really don't know. Maybe if lots of bodily secretions are all over your hands and left there they eventually lead to hair growth?

Isn't it the same as seeing stars? Not that I have experienced it while having sex but have while vomitting....

Hey Random,

TRY THIS!

1) Turn on your vibrator. It should be new or clean.
2) Put one end in your teeth or on your forehead. (You may want tomake sure no one is looking)
3) Stare at a digital alarm clock.

You should see the numbers dancing in waves because your eyeballs are jiggling. TRIPPY!

I counter your random fact with a different one

First off, the Victorian era was weird. It was thought around this time that spicy food let to more desire to masturbate. AND masturbation was thought to be very bad. SO the kellogs company created some bland foods. For example, gram crackers and corn flakes. True story.

Re: I counter your random fact with a different one

I saw something about that on TV. Well, not Kellogs, but about graham crackers..it was about some monk or something. lol

Now, I'd like to know what categorizes vigorous sex as opposed to not-vigorous sex? I mean, what's the threshhold for that? At what point does sex go from being boring, tame sex to wild, vigorous sex? Is it when you stop being able to see clearly? I mean, it's relative as to what is vigorous sex, you know?

It's an important question. Anyone who wants to test any given number of hypotheses, I'm around ;-P
