When Linda Blair vomited in The Exorcist (1973), the substance was made out of split pea soup and oatmeal.

That movie's great. I remember hearing somewhere that the vomiting rig used for that scene could have killed her if it malfunctioned and shot the mixture in the wrong direction.

lol! NICE! You're a scholar of this. I am definitely impressed. Did the tube keep it so she didn't have to really taste it at all?

once, my friends mixed some left over lunch together with milk and made a little throw up baggie for one of my friends, so she could go home (the office wouldn't let her at first). it was hilarious. slit pea soup and oatmeal would have been a lot easier. must have tasted great!

Hahahah... wow.

Split pea soup really must be that gross -- I'm pretty sure it was used to make the fake vomit for the 'Mr. Creosote' scene in Monty Python's 'Meaning of Life.' For that movie they used catapults to throw it around. I bet it smelled.

Pea soup and oatmeal? Sort of... obscure. I wonder how they thought of that exact combination.
