Joe Dimaggio was so outraged when he watched the filming of then-wife Marilyn Monroe’s legendary scene in The Seven Year Itch, in which the actress’ skirt blows up as she stands over a subway grating-- that he divorced her within two weeks.

Compared to today's standards it might be classy, but considering the standards then I can understand his reaction.

joe was an ass

Joe dimaggio was obviously an asshole and didn't realize that a pro sports figure is not any better than any other person who lives off the show of their physical beauty and prowess---what an ass! from a time when men got away with being asses more often.

Most likely. I imagine there were lots of jealousy issues, being married to the most sought after and wanted woman in America.

Joe Dimaggio also became very upset with Simon and Garfunkel for being mentioned in "Mrs. Robinson." I think he tried to sue them.
