There was a Young Lady whose chin
Resembled the point of a pin;
So she had it made sharp,
And purchased a harp,
And played several tunes with her chin.
I actually really like going back in time in films. :) If Batman started with Batman Begins, then do you think as many people would have went to see it, without the other movies showing who he becomes?
Or if George Lucas had started with his prequels instead of Star Wars a New Hope? I wouldn't have been as impressed.
OK, I'll give you the Starwars prequels, but not Batman. You would have to have lived in a cave in a foreign country to not have some concept of who the charcter is, over 50 years in comic book, two television shows, and numerous cartoons, he's an icon. Starwars only had it's movies to cary it so I can see your point there.
Batman Begins still rocked!
But do you think that the Batman comic books and cheesey tv show could have carried a film set in the prequel time, and made it as successful as the first few Batman's were
I do. I think that the Batman Begins movie stands better on its own than if you lump it together with the franchise movies. They don't capture the essense of the character, they make a piss poor effort at showing the beginings of Batman, and in the end come out looking like an over bugdet knock off of the 60's TV series. In my mind Batman Begins is the first Batman movie of which I hope there will be a couple more (as long as they stay that good).
I haven't seen Batman Begins yet. I'm waiting for it to come on HBO. :) I adore the cast though. Three ofmy favorites so I'm very excited to see it.
Do you think they could have made this movie back then though? That they would have gotten the fonding?
And would it have done as well with different actors?
I mean Christian Bale was a mere boy when the Batman movies began... still doing Newsies. ;)
I think we are splitting hairs now. Funding, yes I think they could have. The first Batman movie had a huge budget for the time. I think the studios would have backed it, it had been a while since there had really been a superhero movie which is an old audience favorite, and for actors... there are always great actors out there. I am sure that if they had gotten the write casting director we would have had a good Bruce Wayne/Batman. I am a big Batman fan and had previously seen The Machinist with Christian Bale, when I found out he was going to be Batman I about fell out of my chair laughing. After seeing the movie I was very impressed and I'm glad they chose him for the role, and the sequel that was just announced :)
Not that I mind talking about this, but do you think we have given this subject more thought than it deserves?
Ok then, lets call this horse dead and find a new, unsuspecting victim.
You got it. ;)
Mischeif Maker, or Murderer?
Assailant at the very least, he keeps nipping at my nose.
But he is an artist. You gotta give him that.
Well, it is a unique place to nip at, though it does smack of Hannibal Lecter.
True. I was commenting on what he leaves on windows.
He would like you to think he is an artist. He is just a nose biting hack that takes advantage of fractals to create interesting images.
