LJ is offering permanent accounts again, and this time they're letting you choose which charity you want the $25 they've allotted for charitable giving out of over A MILLION options! The website that your $25 goes to is

http://razoo.com/

Very cool. :)

I'm a little frustrated by how many people are complaining about the charity option, on the news site. If you don't buy it in the time frame that LJ offers the charity timeframe, you'll still be paying $175, wouldn't you rather $25 of that go to a charity? Especially when there's over a million to choose from? This is just fascinating/horrifying to me. Can anyone explain the reasoning against money going towards charity when you can choose it?

Ugh.

Seldom-seen footage photo #498: Mount Rushmore sculptor Gutzon Borglum and his assistant meticulously adjust the placement of George Washington's erect left nipple. The nipple was later removed for aesthetic and ethical reasons.

I don't know if I'd say retarded. Most people I know that have mental or physical handicaps would be happy to help out with charities.

I don't even know what word describes those that want to complain about eeeeverything, especially things that could help the masses.

Maybe they misunderstood it as being an extra $25? Or maybe they thought there was no choice in which charity?

Well it's $175 regardless. And after the 6th the whole $175 goes to LJ instead of the $25 of the 175 going to charity.

" you know John I don't think this is such a great idea."
" you shut the hell up! I'm gonna make that yeti pay!"

I often wish I had money to give to charity. I don't have a job, I just go to college, and make due on very little food money or left overs when I visit the folks. I'd rather just be working ad contributing towards the greater good.

I feel ya. I bought one last time around when I had a job. Do you have time to volunteer at a food shelf or soup kitchen? That sort of thing always makes me feel good. :)

Odd people

They are probably the same people who also think that all government services should somehow be supplied instead by private charities.
