[music |Splendid.]

Legendary Old West figure Bat Masterson held a wide variety of jobs during his adventurous lifetime, including stints as a buffalo hunter, frontier lawman, gambler, Army scout, U.S. Marshal, and sports editor for the New York Morning Telegraph. Masterson was also a frequent visitor to Theodore Roosevelt's White House and the inspiration for the character of Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls.

And speaking of fantastic older musicals... What the heck is this crap!?

They want to remake My Fair Lady!? With Kiera Knightley!?

Leave my musicals alone, damnit! *bangs head*

Remake something that needs remaking. Like... oh, I don't know. The Phantom of the Opera film? And cast a Christine that can sing?

*clears throat* Sorry. I'm a bit annoyed.

Youtube of the day!

Kiera Knightley is awesome, but I agree that her in My Fair Lady would be strange.

Oh I don't mind her in some other things I've seen her in. I just don't want to see her as Eliza.. and I don't think she can sing. I may be wrong.. but her vocal quality of her speaking voice doesn't sound like her singing would be very pleasant.

I think they should cast a stage actress as Eliza and then surround her with screen stars. Julie Andrews could be great in a cameo as Higgins' mother.

My Fair Remake

Yeaah......

Here's an idea, why don't we rerelease the original on to the big screen?

Does Keira Knightly REALLY have that much drawing power?

No.

I will be boycotting that one.

Re: My Fair Remake

I'm sure I'll see it on HBO or something, but I'm not paying to see it.

Have you ever seen 1776? thats the only musical I enjoy. Of course part of it is because it's based on history. I'm looking into seeing young frankenstein at some point, I'm told it's excelent

I've never seen 1776 live, and have only seen bits and pieces of the film, but I intend to one of these days. ;)

I love historical musicals. You may like Ragtime..

I've heard YF is a blast.

I'm insanely interested with the american revolution, and also by John Adams. Heres a link to my favorite song/scene in the entire play. It's Adams facing the fact that he cannot have an anti slavery clause in the declaration and still ahve it pass. Probably the most stirring song in the entire Play for me.

no accounting for taste. either of us lol.

and lol, I couldn't notice in that movie because of all the ridiculously expensive sets. who needs acting when you have MONEY to spend in a movie?
