random.. on another forum there is a discussion about the 9/11 opera performance in New York city. Could you please give me a link to the news article or at least the thread?
Thanks in advance.

9/11 opera performance?
Oh gosh! A matter of finding it. I'll see what I can do. :)

Thanks for trying. I've been looking through your archives, but haven't yet found it. I can't remember which year that was let alone the month.
My understanding (or memory) was that Broadway and the other NYC theatres shut down in mourning, but there was one out-of-town opera company that did give show on evening of 9/11.
But in the other forum I need to link or otherwise verify that.
That's my recollection as well, and that they did it free of charge.
Though it may have been the night after. I'm not certain.

i want to go there too.
Wouldn't it be freaking awesome!?
Holy crap!! That's so scary!
I can't handle real ghosts Terrify me.
I know!!! I will wee my pants if I hear a noise!!!
I'm with ya darling. Wonder fi you can photograph her.
I don't know how long I'd last! I used to love that sort of stuff, along with ghost stories like the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, but I get more and more freaked out these days (in my old age LOL).
I get pretty freaked out too. I think it's just magic though. lol
OMG. Oh that would be AMAZING!!! I will be coming to California hopefully next year for Disney and all of those goodies for little Random. I will break my anonymity clause for this opportunity! =)
Dude, you rock so hard. Thanks babe!! *hugs*
Irma, huh? I dunno, I think it's a hoax. Any piano can be remotely operated these days. Besides, a ghost isn't likely to know music that's come out after she's died; and not even everything is played on the radiowaves, so that doesn't count...
I might believe it if she played something really obscure. Like something she would have to pull from my own head.
But I'd be tempted to ask her to play "Who's Crying Now?"
LOL. I'd so pick like a random musical song. lol
That's assuming that ghosts are "static" and locked in the time in which they died - not necessarily so.
I've "seen" her perform at least twice, and she's quite good. She even knew "Flight of the Bumblebee", which is a pretty frenetically-paced piece of music to play on any instrument, let alone a piano. Like all artists, she likes being appreciated.. she'll musically "thank-you" for tips that you leave. What's more, her ghostly pet parrot will thank you for tips you leave for him!
I'm not a member, but my fellow baritone friend/a cappella member David is. If you live in the Los Angeles area, I might be able to get you an invite. I can't promise anything, but it's a possibility.
That is SO freaking cool! Oh man, I really want to go.
Well, if I ever visit LA, I may try and arrange that. ;) Because, dude, I want to see it. lol
my husband is a magician. maybe if he makes tons of money at it he can become a member?
That would be awesome! :)
I just realized: probably one of the most important things in life is being around the people you love ...
Paris Hilton doesn't think so ... did you see her last video? She is realy NUDE! I saw this video on BBC today!
Crazy people around us!
I recently finished a book called "The Magician's Assistant" in which The Magic Castle figured prominently - I didn't realize it was a real place. Cool. And a good book - I recommend it.
Oh, that's so cool! I'll have to read it.
It's by Ann Patchett, who also wrote "Bel Canto", but I liked this one much better.
