It's kinda obvious from reading the article that the author never went to college herself. Her mindset is one I just can't get with; aside from being compulsively overeducated, the women in my family breed for brains more than anything else, and if you want a husband, you're most likely to marry someone at your education level.

That being said, when I was about 13, my father took me aside and told me, very earnestly, that This Is a Modern Age In Which We are Living, and if I wanted to have kids on my own and thought I could support them Morally, Financially, and Emotionally, then there was nothing wrong with doing so.

Besides, it's more fun to make your own money.

Your Mom sounds really awesome. :)

And I don't know if it's a high school or a college paper or even if it's for real, it was just one of those things that made my teeth itch. lol

I actually know someone like this. A self-proclaimed princess. Despite this, I like her a lot. She's a good person. People get their priorities messed up. They get selfish, and tunnel-vision, and if they're surrounded by enablers (as she was and continues to be, though you could argue that it is she who surrounds herself with them), then it perpetuates.

There's so much wrong with this world. If a few insecure, scared little girls want to protect themselves in this way, then I say what's the harm? The rest of us can make our own decisions. It's a lifestyle choice really, and no more wrong than homosexuality.

One difference is that they invite judgment because they tend to be so judgmental, as a stereotype that is. So I'm not saying we shouldn't be offended on principle or tongue-lash away, only that there are bigger things that blow my skirt up, and generally, I don't waste the energy.

The other obvious flaw in my defense here is that this was something of a recruitment article, and that's uncool.

In good conscience I have to add that my friend does work part-time, and has a bachelor's degree in communication. The similarities to Suzy Sunshine up there are limited.

Haha! My dad said to me once, "I didn't go to school, and look how I turned out." I paid for college myself, now I'm making 2-3 times what he does. I just loaned him 10 grand. I wonder who would have loaned it to him had I not gone to school. In today's day and age, a woman can't just sit around waiting for someone else to support her. That woman is an idiot!

Well that just about made me want to toss my Cheetos. I mean, first from a journalistic perspective, this article isn't even a an article it's a one long whine. second I was raise with three sisters, by a mother who's goal with her kids waws to make them as independant as possible. It worked. To read that just boils my blood, a side affect from being raside by women is that I'm a decent bit a femininst. man this jsut burns me up.

The life of a military wife is the saddest, sorriest bloody thing I've ever seen in my life. I actually ran kicking and screaming from the possibility of one, even though the fella in question was fun, smart, sexy and nuts about me. But NO! Just no.

Maybe when she gets that psych degree she'll see just how much of her soul/mind has been sucked into the machine.

Good for a chuckle, however.

"I guarantee that no girl will marry a poor guy cause every girl wants the life of a princess"

Let’s try this on for size

"I can guarantee that no girl would want to marry a man of poverty because of an over rated dream of being a Princess, generally generated by "Daddy's little Girl" attitude and treatment from childhood years."

What is so wrong with an education? This girl makes other females look horrid! It screams "I'm going to play the idiot card for the rest of my life because the only thing I believe I've got going for myself is looks".

Well 'Princess', looks fade. Plastic surgery? Seen Joan Rivers lately? Scary stuff.

Ladies shouldn't need a man to depend on financial stability. In fact no should maintain the mind set of "Significant other is the cash cow of the household". If we had a depression we'd all be completely screwed.

Oh and, Miss Reporter Princess, men like a girl with brains and the ability to communicate articulately.

Do you know what source this is from?

if its real - you know everyone is entitled to their opinion, but her opinion would probably be different if...uh...SHE WAS BETTER EDUCATED LOL.

You know the part that actually pisses me off the most? When she makes women out to be fortune-husband-hunters. Lady, I dont care if you want to be a homemaker or a socialite. But don't make the rest of us out to be money-grabbers, you materialistic bitch! lol. sorry i got angry.

Your chances of finding a husband that will be rich enough to support your sorry, lazy ass are much better at university. I suggest one that has a prestigious law or medical college on campus.

Now I have to go get my tongue removed from my cheek.

I also have to admit that after three marriages, I'm not entirely sure the buggers are really good for anything else. ;) Husbands, not men in general. There's a difference, you know.

Since when can a family afford to live on one paycheck anymore? Frankly, EVERY girl can't marry into Wisteria Lane. The rich are only the top 1%, and many of them are old and decrepit. I kinda can't wait to see Lynzee middle aged and underskilled while her first marriage goes down in a chaotic ball of flames, leaving her ignorant (more so?) and without options. I mean...good luck Lynzee! You might wanna practice welcoming people to Walmart though...you know, in between popping out casseroles and babies.

It really, honestly looks like something a 7th grader wrote for a middle school paper. It doesn't get to me in that light. I just wonder what this girl's life will end up being like if she gets all those things she says are important for realizes that there are other things in life besides "getting your nails done and shopping."
