In the early morning of June 17th, 1972, an $80 a week security guard named Frank Wills was patrolling the parking garage of an office complex in Washington D.C. He noticed that someone had used adhesive tape to prevent a stairell door from latching. Wills removed teh tape and continued on his rounds... but when he returned to the same door at 2:00 AM, he saw it had been taped again. So he called the police who disccovered a team of burglars planting bugs in an office leased by the Democratic National Committee. This "third-rate burglary" and the coverup that folllwed-- grew into the Watergate scandal that forced President Richard M. Nixon to resign from office in 1974.

And how to detect a lie. :) Good stuff.

And man.. I don't lie unless it's a joke, like april fools day, but I don't do any of these things. I could totally be a CIA agent. Too many years in theatre I think.

Except for that overly specific thing, but I'm like that in everything. Honest or non.

And in a recent poll 91% of Americans reported lying on a regular basis.

That's super tacky. :(

To think that the Watergate scandal was brought down with a security guard.

I love the dramatic acting in the video. Lol.

Or high school students if you've seen Dick. haha. ;) Michelle Williams and Kirsten Dunst were SO cute in that.

Me too!! They're great, aren't they? There's a whole series of them. Many goodies. I intend to post more. ;)

omg, yeah.

91% of Americans admitting they lie on a daily basis, and they actually tell the truth for the poll? LOL!!!!

And yeah, you could totally be a CIA agent. We should be agents. We'll hunt down the TARDIS and shock the world when we open it and there's nothing in there.

:)

I wonder if that poll determined the difference between little white lies, like yeah I took out the trash(sneaks off to do that right now), and no I didn't have sexual relations with that woman(sneaks off to do tht right now). I detest the larger of the two there, in that capacity I'm truthful to a fault

Whoa, that's one neat story about Frank Wills. He must have been proud :)

I can't believe that that many people reported lying on a regular basis. That is quite lame. Honesty is the best policy...except when it comes to creepy people hitting on you and asking if you're single.

I'm not a big liar, I'm more of a secret person. If something's bothering me I'll always say I'm fine and then not give any details. Does that count? And I do most of those things because 1.) they're comfortable (the standing with folded arms), 2.) I want my space (the putting something between us thing), and 3.) I can be socially awkward, as can most people (looking away and unnatural speech).

Lying just makes things harder down the line when you have to remember and support the framework of lies! WASTE OF TIME. :)
