Cons & Ukulele's = the perfect combination. [Feb. 26th, 2008|01:25 pm]

[mood |blahblah]
[music |Assorted Beatles songs.]

"That's not a real bearded lady!" cried a paying customer at Barnum's Museum. "It's a bearded man wering a dress!" The customer then had Barnum served with a subpoena and took him to court. The trial was a public spectacle as the bearded lady, her husband, and a doctor each testified as to her femininity. Meanwhile thousands flocked to the museum to judge for themselves. After the trial it came out that PT Barnum had actually hired the man to sue him.. solely to drum up business.

"This way to the great Egres!" I love PT barnum, such a bastard, but just damn entertaining. Also there was a great exhibit I got to see this past summer in NYC about mythical creatures, and they had a lot of Barnum's stuff, including the fiji mermaid. mmmmm, nerdy goodness

Ooh! Interesting. Sounds like an awesome exhibit. I'll have to keep an eye open in case it travels.

I'm ashamed not to have been the one to deliver it.

Although, honestly, all I know about Barnum is the photo of Terry Mann's @$$ that was published in this broadway book I have.

Ooh! Really? I didn't know he was a part of Barnum. I know very little about the show though.

Yeah I think he was some random (apparently bare-a$$ed) juggler.

LOL the photo was actually from the dressing room.

I SHOULD know about the show, i was so obsessed with Mann! but then maybe I felt it didn't warrant much thought since he was, as I said, random bare-@ssed juggler.

I was actually thinking of doing quotes in every entry, but I think that'd get tedious.

My Dad used to play the soundtrack to The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly all the time when I was growing up. Thanks for the memories!

That's like the time I sued myself for being too sexy. It was really just to bring the topic my sexiness into the public forum.

I ended up settling out of court for an undisclosed sum.

In the most astounding coincidence, we had a bearded lady in at work today. Well, she was definately a lady with all the lady parts, in her late 20s, who had 2 day growth under her chin where she hadn't quite shaved.

I can't believe your post today is about that.
