What was your favorite toy as a child?

Mine was a Mickey Mouse village, that I lost in a fire.

Oh, and dolls. I loved dolls.

And an entire wedding party doing the Thriller dance!

And hey, what's this?

Two youtubes in one day!

Well, I can't recall if I posted that Thriller video or not all ready, so just to be on the safe side...

And this.. is just odd. *blink* A little boy singing Britney Spears "Hit Me Baby One More Time" and his Mom comes and scares him at the end. But the thing that really gets me is the comments.

Screw that!!! If a little kid wants to sing.. even if he's singing music from a sub-par "musician" I think he/she should be encouraged! Kids don't get enough outlet for creative expression in todays society, and.. well.. Okay. Stepping off the soapbox. Have a nice day ya'll. ;)

My favorite toys were my transformers. Sadly, I don't have them anymore.

Bummer. :( I wish I still had that village to give to my kid. I think I might start scouring ebay for it or something similar.

Where did your Transformers get too?

When I was a kid my most favorate toy was I had a full-sized Millenium Falcon with a Han Solo action figure and a Chewbacca figure. I remember I used to play that one scene from "The Empire Strikes Back" over and over again when the who of them are trying to fix the hyperdrive while being pummelled by a Star Destroyer...

"HYDRON BOOSTERS!!!!!"
"ARRGOOOOOOO!!"
"LUVUAL DAMPNERS!!!!!!!"
"ARRRGOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
"OWW!!!"
"HROO??"
"Thats not it.. BRING ME THE HYDRO SPARES!!!"

There's nothing so unnacceptable as gender crime. Step outside your supposed "role", and you'r in for trouble. Although thankfully that's changing a bit. A lot, in the last few years, actually.

And my favorite toy? My Millenium Falcon. I absolutlely loved that thing and played with it till it totally fell apart. But when I was little the guys in my neighborhood and I were more about toy categories. ONe day you'd play guns. The next day it was Legos, Hotwheels, Bikes, etc. Now I'm all nostalgic.

*nod* Agreed.

And man, I feel so deprived. I never had a Millenium Falcon.

I would have loved the hell out of it.

I used to love playing Barbies with my older sister. Well, when I say Barbies, I mean about six or seven actual Barbies and then a whole mess of odd dolls: a Shaun Cassidy doll, a Fonzie doll, my baby sister's Jem and The Holograms dolls, and this awful set called the Heart Family. My older sister was a riot and would make up all kind of crazy storylines. We did get a little upset whenever the Bionic Man doll went on a bender and needed an intervention. He was jailed a few times. ;)

She gave my favorite doll a purple mohawk and pierced her ears. I was really upset for a day or two, but then I loved it.

I have no idea whatever happened to all those dolls. I'm sure my mom donated them.

My favorite toy when I was really little was a fake plastic typewriter--which I also lost in a fire. After that, i was always in love with those little kitchen play things--though I never had one. If I went to play at someone else's house and they had one, that's all I'd play with.

Doesn't it suck to have your favorite toys destroyed? :(

I lost a cat too in that fire, which was devastating. But everyone else was all right. Just more material stuff. I hope your family was safe?

I liked those kitchen play things too. And dollhouses. I looooved playing with my friends dollhouses.

Show n tell videostrips with accompanying 45s played on a special tv slash record player; then a looooong involvement with origami.

I must share this entry.

ramdomposting is good for everette's memory.

I never really liked barbies and I was too old for the Star Wars stuff. I guess I really liked the small plastic farms animals- no so much the farms as the horses. My girlfriend and I used to collect dozens of the horses and draw chalk stables for them on the ground and give them namjes and of course they all spoke english. They would have adventures and stuff.

I really used to love the old paper dolls- which my Grannie had as a kid. We would draw our own and design whole new wardrobes for them. Kinda lame, but a kid, I loved it. I'm doing a medieval series of paper dolls and outfits for the museum at the moment :)

My stuffed toy unicorn that I got when I was five. I still have him, and sometimes I still grab him at night when I have nightmares, if the cats are off doing something else.
