Absinthe preparation. One of many, though this is claimed to be the proper way.

Queen Elizabeth I ruled England in the days before plumbing. She scheduled her progress from one castle to another by leaving whenever the stench from human waste became too much for her to bear.

lol. ;) Yeah, it's not the height of entertainment.

The sugar cubes are being sent through the absinthe spoon.. so that the sugar can permeate through the liquor and stuff, I guess. I'm sleepy. Words aren't coming.

Yeah, the stuff that's distilling it? I think it's water.

The absinthe is all ready in the glass,I don't think the sugar's distilled wiht more absinthe. Not sure.

I know some people do a flame thing too.

That woulda been a cooler youtube. lol

Couldn't they... wash the castle? I think it's save you a wee bit of money to hose it down instead of build a new one.

Then again, queens probably don't worry about money..

Well all the castles were prebuilt. I don't think they had much of a hosing system.. ;)

Elizabeth also forbade anyone to make wode in a certain distance of her castle because of the stench. Wode is a blue dye made from dung. You'd think she'd understand, she had more clothes than anyone. She had an outfit for every day, and people just didn't do that back then.

That I did not know!

I knew she wore ltos of dresses, but I didn't know she had an issue with the smell of that dye. I imagine it is pretty offensive though, but she probably wore lots of blue made of said dye.

Funny.
